Privacy Policy
What you share
AV Halloween and AV Xmas share one service. Home submissions publish the display name, address and map location, description, hours, photos and videos you provide. Public comments and their author display names are visible to visitors. Share only material you want others to see. Homeowners can hide their content; administrator restrictions still apply.
Accounts and inquiries
We use account and contact information to sign you in, verify your phone, manage your home, votes and comments, and protect the service. Essential session cookies support these functions. If you submit a seller inquiry, your contact details and selling timeline are saved and sent to Nick and the service providers used to deliver the inquiry and notifications so he can respond. Opening an offer is separate from sending an inquiry.
Maps and other providers
Google Maps provides interactive maps and directions. Using these features connects your browser to Google, which receives technical information such as your IP address. Hosting, media processing and message delivery providers help operate the site. Analytics choices do not disable maps or essential services.
Optional analytics
On the public production sites we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits to broad page categories, public home views, directions clicks, offer openings, confirmed seller inquiries and confirmed public votes. We send controlled category paths and titles, not home addresses, exact locations, account information, inquiry text, raw page URLs or search parameters. Recognized referral sources are reduced to a known origin. Fixed campaign categories from QR codes, flyers and social links help us understand how visitors found the site; arbitrary campaign text is discarded. Google receives technical browser and connection information and may set analytics cookies to recognize visits. Advertising consent is denied and Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in the tag. No cross-domain link identifiers are added.
Seller ad experiment
When analytics is allowed, a first-party HttpOnly cookie randomly keeps this browser in one seller-ad variant per experiment for up to 90 days. We count assigned browsers, views after at least one second with half the ad visible, clicks, and successfully saved inquiries. Anonymous experiment records contain no raw IP, user agent or contact details. Inquiry contact records remain separate. Browser identifiers and their experiment records are removed after expiry by hourly cleanup; results cover retained records, not a permanent lifetime count. Cleared cookies and different devices count separately. Global Privacy Control and Privacy Choices off disable this tracking. Staff and explicitly excluded preview browsers are not counted.
Your choices
Analytics is on by default on eligible public pages unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control or you turn it off in Privacy Choices. Off prevents the analytics script and collection, including consent pings, and removes this site’s GA cookies. Browsing and essential cookies continue to work. Choices are stored in this browser on this site, are device and browser specific, and may need to be set separately on AV Halloween and AV Xmas. Clearing browser storage resets your choice. If storage is unavailable, analytics stays off. Requests already sent before turning it off cannot be recalled.
